Saturday Synopsis
It's Sunday morning. I haven't blogged in like a week or so, so hear goes. Yesterday was a very full Saturday. The thought occurs to me that if I want blog about it, good or bad, it was noteworthy. At least there's that, right? Within 10 minutes of rolling out of bed, I headed to Urgent Care. I wasn't sure if a Q-Tip top had gotten stuck in my ear, but either way I had some real ear pain happening. Two hours later I was home. The "stuck" feeling I was having was air pressure that was so bad it "sucked" my ear drum backwards. Thankfully, I have gotten some relief. Anyway, after that extravaganza, we decided to take the kids to Ridgewood Ave., my old stomping grounds. Without going into details, that adventure was less than stellar. After we were back in the car, Kent surprised all of us by taking us to Red Lobster for a late lunch. We had a really nice time and headed home to "regroup." By mid afternoon I was back on laundry detail and I had a bold thought. The other day at Hawthorne Christian I had picked a lot of brochures about the different ministries that are offered there. (A dozen children's ministries alone.) On Saturday evening there is a Contemporary Worship Service and Club 208, a children's class. I made a quick call to a woman in the children's ministry and a gave her a quickie overview of my unique and God Given children. BOTH OF THEM. We decided that BOTH of them should attend the class, and "give it a shot." Everyone attends the musical worship beginning of the service, and then the children are invited to go to their class. Kent and I accompanied them to their class, which happens to be in Victoria's classroom. Less than five minutes later Kent and I were back upstairs ALONE. BOTH kids stayed, participated, and were FINE in the class! It was the first time since Jack's birth that both of us worshipped in Church together, without children. It was an amazing feeling of momentary freedom from parenting, and a closeness with my husband. Last night was a Communion Service, so we also got to share the Lord's Supper in a new way. I'm so glad we went. After that were bedtime snacks, and eventually some sleep. Now that's a Saturday.

Giggle-rific!
I woke up with a migraine today. Not a headache. A real migraine. Kent drove Victoria in since it's February week and I was in bad shape. Jack and I had a very busy day. We drove through 2 different Burger Kings, and made a gas station run. Jack had a checkup at the dentist today, and he was a rock star! This baby doll has been through more in 1 month than many adults will ever face. I love this child with my entire being. I almost canceled the dentist because I couldn't stand the thought of another situation of pain and fear for him. I ultimately decided to go for it and get it over with. He was so good, so calm, and so brave. I breathe a sigh of relief that at least for now both kids are done with dental appointments. We had a brief respite at home and then we trekked over to pick up the Vicki. After dinner the kids and I had a spontaneous, life-filled giggle fest before, during, and after Victoria's bath. The human spirit is an astonishing thing.

Snow, an almost 3 year old, and Applebees
Today was a full, fun day. We awoke to 4 inches of wet snow. After we got ready we headed to my brother's new house. We had intended to visit a couple of weeks ago, but we everything that happened we never got the chance. It's a rare Monday that everyone is off, so we took advantage of it and it turned out to be a great day. John and Beata's new house is beautiful. Much more family friendly than the old one. I loved getting to spend time with Wyatt, and giving the kids time to play together as cousins. John and I don't have any 1st cousins, so it's great that our kids get to experience that. On the way home, Kent announced that he would "cook" dinner tonight. That meant making a phone call to pick up take out. About half way home he asked if I'd like to stop at Applebees instead, and we wound up having a really nice family dinner. We're home now, and the thought of a cup of Starbucks is keeping my eyelids open. That's it for tonight.

I'm Not Feeling Interesting
Didn't get in the shower until noon. Went to the Dollar Store with the crew. Went to my in-laws. Came home and took everything off the rod in my closet. 30% was Kent's stuff. I warned you ahead of time, I'm tired and bored and just worn out. Trying to imagine life 6 months from now. Exhausted. Night night.

A Good Day
Today Kent and I had a productive talk in the morning. Then we took the kids to Paramus Park for lunch. Victoria's behavior was challenging, and a little bit exhausting, but overall it was fun. We then came home for awhile and wound up having a fun snuggle time on the "big bed." Anita called and told us that Matt is staying with Afina and Han for a few days. We decided to stop over for a visit, and then go out to dinner. We went to the Land and Sea and had a calm, "normal" dinner. It was wonderful, especially when you stop to consider where we were 3 weeks ago. The day is winding down and I'm really tired. I haven't done anything specifically for me today, but I feel ok about it since I was able to enjoy myself throughout the day. Bedtime cometh. 'Night.
